Jin Jung Kwon, a liberal arts professor, defended rapper MC Mong from those who are continuously criticizing the rapper's every move, especially with his newly released album 'Miss me or Diss me'.
With his comeback, various celebrities took to their personal twitter and SNS to congratulate and support the rapper for his comeback after a five year hiatus due to controversy surrounding his draft dodging. However, netizens started to criticized the celebrities who were supporting the rapper, making outrageous requests such as asking for HaHa's departure from 'Infinity Challenge'.
The professor gave his two cents on Twitter:
"I wish that they were more strict on politicians and forgiving towards celebrities... not the other way around."
"That's why this situation is uncomfortable."
"From a 'justice' point of view, it is reasonable to criticize MC Mong's actions, but to revive a military song that I heard tirelessly during the totalitarian government days seems a bit distasteful to me."
"Military service problems are military service problems. Musical work is musical work. I don't think there is a need to connect the two... I'm sure he has already heard enough criticism, it seems as though there are people who are still not satisfied."
"I can understand that you are criticizing MC Mong, but it seems unfair to criticize fellow celebrities who are supporting his comeback. Baek Ji Young's tweet on it is very impressionable. Very cool."
"Celebrities aren't getting any stipend from the government like government officials... If you don't want to see HaHa or MC Mong, then you don't have to see them... if you do want to see them, then you can see them... Then you're happy, me happy, everybody happy."
