With Derek Jeter set to retire after this season, the New York Yankees may have found the shortstop of their future in 17 year old South Korean Park Hyo Joon.
The 6 foot 2, 170 pound Park Hyo Joon is ranked as the No. 18 international prospect by Baseball America. He signed a deal with the Yankees for $1.16 million according to his father Park Dong Hoon.
Park Hyo Joon is a star at Yatap High School in Seongnam, Korea. According to Baseball America, he is said to be a five tool player with quick-twitch athleticism and plus speed. Because of his young age, he should have a long time to develop in the Yankees farm system.
