During an interview with media outlet Newsen, Sunmi shared, "I am fully aware, see, and hear the concerns about me. I monitor almost all of the netizens' responses, and I am thankful for the constructive criticism and am humbly taking them into consideration."
She also discussed her past image as part of the Wonder Girls. "While I was promoting as a group, I hardly had any opportunity to show my own color. Even during my Wonder Girls days, I had a cute image because I was the maknae. I know that there are definitely concerns about that whenever people think of Wonder Girls' Sunmi."
Despite her past with the JYP Entertainment girl group, Sunmi believes that the work she's put during her hiatus will pay off. "I admit that I was lacking in skills at an early age as well. I trained for over 3 years, and I was surprised at myself a lot. To be honest, there was a time that I doubted myself. I would think, 'Am I cut out to be a singer?' But during my hiatus, I put my all into practicing, and I started to gain confidence that I can show different colors."
"I want to show how much I've grown during my hiatus soon and how many colors I possess. I fully recognize that there are concerns since there weren't any opportunities to show myself. I want to overcome it with my effort."
Sunmi got fans singing along to "24 Hours" and will officially release her digital single on the 26th. What do you think after watching her comeback performance on 'M! Countdown'?
