MBC has announced that the audition show series 'Birth of A Great Star' has been discontinued.
An MBC representative confirmed, "We are not preparing to premiere season 4 of 'Birth of A Great Star'. 'Birth of A Great Star 3' is the last of its kind. After much discussion, we decided not to produce a fourth season... We currently have no plans to start another audition program."
'Birth of A Great Star' achieved a lackluster performance in the ratings department and picked up an average of 5-7% viewer ratings per episode for its latest season. Competing programs, Mnet's 'Superstar K' and SBS' 'K-Pop Star', also continued to overshadow the MBC audition show.
Talented hopefuls will now have to find another audition show to become a great star on!
