SBS's 'Running Man' held a fascinating take on the normal nametag-ripping game on the latest episode of the game-variety program, together with guests Lee Kyung Kyu (the 'godfather' of Korean variety), Ryu Hyun Kyung, and Kim In Kwon.
On their way to the 'superpower karaoke' final mission, the two teams were divided into their own rooms and were given a startling mission, that was a new twist on the tried-and-true nametag ripping: avatars!
Each team would select a 'director' to manage to rest of the troops on the field, with one contestant being allowed on the field at any given time. The avatars could only listen to the directors, and would not be able to do anything otherwise. The Red Team selected Lee Kyung Kyu as their director, while the Blue Team went with the wily HaHa.
As the game progressed, the Red Team's director, Lee Kyung Kyu, took a gamble as he instructed Song Ji Hyo to remove her own nametag, freeing the way for the entrance of a stronger teammate who could take out the opposing side's avatar, Ryu Hyun Kyung.
Unfortunately, however, Lee Kyung Kyu had underestimated Ryu Hyun Kyung's power as she managed to best Yoo Jae Suk in a surprise attack. With the victory going to the Blue Team, they were given an advantage for the final 'superpower karaoke' mission - but unfortunately lost the final victory to their opponents, the Red Team.
