G.NA gave a lecture on K-pop at Pepperdine University, a private university in California on October 14th.
The lecture was titled 'K-POP: A Conversation with G.NA', and ran for about an hour at the Elkins Auditorium, putting her on the same stage as prominent figures such as Condoleezza Rice, the former United States Secretary of State. Reportedly, Hollywood actors that live in nearby Malibu, various directors, and entertainment figures attended her lecture.
G.NA covered many points about K-pop, including life as a K-pop singer, including her aspirations and hopes. She also talked about K-pop's entrance into America and its societal implications.
Craig Detweiler, associate professor of Communication at Pepperdine University expressed, "I am happy to have heard a K-pop singer's story for the first time. I was very surprised at G.NA's stage the day before the lecture. K-Pop has a strong influence in the world and its future is bright and optimistic."
Other students who attended the lecture commented, "The story of a girl that dreamed of being a singer in Canada moving to a stage all over the world was deeply touching. We're looking forward to G.NA because she has worked so hard and achieved her dreams."
In related news, Wonder Girls leader Sun will be speaking on the opposite coast at George Washington University tonight at 6:30PM.
