15& member and 'K-Pop Star' winner, Park Ji Min, opened up about her road to stardom and upcoming debut in a recent interview.
Park Ji Min shared, "I was able to come to JYP Entertainment through 'K-Pop Star', and I never thought that I could debut this quickly. I performed alongside respected senior singers and received training from them, and when I look back on it, they are precious [memories]."
When asked if she regrets signing with JYP Entertainment, Park Ji Min revealed, "I don't regret choosing to sign with JYP Entertainment. I like it even more after joining [the agency]. I went through an adjustment period for the first month. Afterwards, I focused on my greatest weakness, which is expressing feelings [when singing]. Especially because I lacked knowledge of Korean pop songs, I learned the pronunciations and the meanings of the lyrics and then tried to portray them. I thought for a moment that J.Y. Park PD's real personality would differ from his [image] on 'K-Pop Star', but it was really the same. Like the way he demonstrates on broadcast, he did his best to teach me, and because of this, I thought that I should work even harder."
Park Ji Min also gave advice for contestants on the upcoming 'K-Pop Star 2', "This is an opportunity to discover things about yourself that you didn't know before through the audition. I think that you can learn a lot and develop more. I hope that you don't hide your true identity and show everything what you can do. I think there will be a better result if you perform confidently. But if I were to do it again, I don't think I could. To do a competition was honestly very difficult. After I debut, I would not like to think of it as a competition, but rather enjoy it."
Park Ji Min is set to make her debut as a member of the duo 15&. Tune in for their debut performance of "I Dream" on SBS' 'Inkigayo'.
