While the other SS501 members embark on solo activities, member Kim Kyu Jong will be reporting for his mandatory military service on July 23rd.

On July 2nd, B2M Entertainment announced that Kim Kyu Jong would be entering the Recruit Training Center (RTC) on the 23rd. There, he will have basic training for four weeks, before officially enlisting in the army for 2 years.

It has been additionally reported that the SS501 member was initially exempted from mandatory military service due to the fact that he was found to be a hepatitis B-type carrier. After the revision of the military service law, however, Kim Kyu Jong has been classified as draftable, and must now fulfill his military service.

Last month, Kim Kyu Jong commented on this piece of news at his fellow member Kim Hyung Joon's showcase, saying, "Everyone goes to the military; I have nothing to say in particular. The other members will take care of my vacant spot, and I will of course return from my military service to [eventually] take my position [again]."

Despite the few words he shared, it seems that Kim Kyu Jong is planning on formally saying goodbye, as the SS501 member will be giving his fans a meaningful, original composition as a present sometime in the near future.
