'Fairy Idol Group' A Pink has changed. The young girls with an adorable charm have transformed into more feminine women. The girls let out a laugh as they said, "It's nice to be promoting after a long while. The busier we are, the happier we are!"
A Pink, who won the Best Rookie Award after debuting with "I Don't Know" in 2011, received a #1 K-Chart win with "My My" on Mnet's M! Countdown, and the members of their fan club 'Pink Panda' are growing in number by the day. But how do the girls feel when reflecting back on their productive year?
"Our problem is that we should take better care of our [public image] now that it's been a year since our debut, but we walk around with bare faces and comfortable clothing," they said. "We once got in trouble for being too loud while jumping rope outside. There's no mystery to us."
The girls are being dubbed as the 'Fairy Idol Group', and it seems as though no one would mind their bare faces, but member Hayoung revealed, "We diss ourselves pretty badly. We compliment other people often, but the unnis get annoyed when they're told they're pretty." The girls revealed that they themselves feel average when they see pretty people on the streets or in the industry.
The members were then asked who they thought was the greatest beauty in the industry. Unanimously, A Pink voted for Girls' Generation. "They are seriously so pretty, our jaws drop when we see them. We really like senior Tiffany because she displays her affection for us. We also like senior Nicole. They are angels."
"We all have reserved personalities, so we are not good at talking to people first," the girls explained. "But we admire whoever comes to talk to us first."
The 'Compass Dance' is the highlight of their title song "Hush" from the girls' first formal album, 'Une Anee'. The dance complements the members' long shapely legs, effectively captivating the hearts of their uncle fans. It took a lot of work, according to the girls. In order to make sure the members legs were all at the same angle no matter what shoes they were wearing or where they were standing, the girls rehearsed the dance on cement, at the parking lot, and more. The rehearsals went well, but their first stage performance was reportedly difficult, as they could not get used to the grooves of the stage. But now, the girls have grown accustomed to the stage and are doing just fine.
A Pink released their first formal album 'Une Anee' on May 19th. The members who displayed their adorable charms with "I Don't Know" and "My My" have returned with a more feminine and mature look with "Hush".
"We worried a lot about this album, as we released a formal album rather quickly for a rookie [group], and we had changed our concept," the girls admitted. "But once we become set on a fixed concept, it's possible for people to assume that that's all we can show them. We wanted to show you a different side of ourselves to prove that we can appeal with different charms, too."
Other than their title song "Hush", there are 9 additional songs on the new album that Park Chorong has personally penned the lyrics for. All of the members have actively participated in putting this album together, as it is their very first formal album.
"Because of our long hiatus, we feel extremely happy every time we stand on stage," A Pink added. "We want to achieve a #1 win on a music program, and it would be nice if we could obtain a triple crown this year."
