It seems that the K-pop movement is constantly spreading throughout Europe as it has made an appearance in a French movie last year, but has belatedly been receiving attention in Korea.
Girl group Brown Eyed Girls' hit song "Abracadabra" appeared in a 2011 French movie titled 'Les Tuche'. The scene began as the two female lead characters, who are siblings, enter a club while "Abracadabra" is heard playing in the background. One of the main female character is then seen handing a CD to the DJ, demanding the song to be played.
A representative of the girls' agency, Nega Network, stated, "An official request was sent in to use the song as a background music for the movie so we gave them approval. When the members heard about the news, they were rather intrigued."
Netizens commented, "Wow, that's cool", "I'm proud that K-pop is spreading more and more everyday", and "This is awesome. Daebak!"
Check out the clip from the movie below.
