Singer and H.O.T. member Jang Woohyuk confessed that H.O.T.'s costume for their hit 1996 track, 'Candy' was a work of plagiarism. "This is my first time revealing this... but I plagiarized the candy costume," stated Jang Woohyuk on SBS 'Strong Heart' that aired on May 24th. He continued, "I thought about the costume for 'Candy' after a successful debut with 'Warrior's Descendants.'" Jang Woohyuk further explained, "When I couldn't figure out a design, there was a costume that I've had my eyes on which happened to be one of my colleague artist's costume." When MC Kang Ho Dong asked, "Was this person a Korean artist?" Jang Woohyuk answered, "Yes. OneTwo's Ho Bum debuted as an idol at the time." Jang Woohyuk then captured the attention with his honesty by adding, " And I thought his costume would really suit us well... it's a cruel thought but I sort of wished Ho Bum to leave the Korean music scene after a short while." In addition, Jang Woohyuk said, "Ho Bum ended his promotion by the time when we came out. So I added in a sun cap and beanie to his costume." He expressed his apologies by saying, "I met Ho Bum off-stage and I felt so sorry, Ho Bum knows about this as well." Source: Nate
