"Inkigayo"'s anger against YG Entertainment has put the Korean music industry on high alert, causing many to wonder how G-Dragon and T.O.P's unit album release will fare. Out of all the music program companies, "Inkigayo" was known to have the closest relationship with YG Entertainment. YGE consistently made efforts to maintain their friendship with SBS by ensuring that most of their comeback artists perform on "Inkigayo" first. For example, 2NE1 performed three tracks on their comeback stage for "Inkigayo", while delivering only two for "Music Bank" and "Show! Music Core." "Inkigayo" responded to the love by giving them nearly 11 minutes of preferential treatment, despite the voices of concern rising to a pitch of controversy. However, due to recent events, it seems as if the relationship has been put on an awkward hold. YGE artists fully participated in the "2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards" last month, and ignored "Inkigayo's" attempts at pressuring artists to withdraw due to 'conflicting schedules'. Consequently, it's said that "Inkigayo" feels like they've been betrayed. Much attention is now being put on whether "Inkigayo" will put aside their feelings and let YGE's new unit group perform on their show, and if so, whether they will give G-Dragon and T.O.P the same preferential treatment they showed for 2NE1. A representative from a high position on SBS's variety team stated, "As long as I am in this position, artists that attended the '2010 MAMA' will never be allowed to appear on 'Inkigayo'."
