Actor Cha Seung Won had to be put on the operating table on September 12th�after his health deteriorated while in Japan. The actor is in Japan filming for the IRIS spin-off, Athena: Goddess of War. He was eventually diagnosed with acute viral infection due to food poisoning. He had been hospitalized for 20 days, but because his condition didn't improve, surgery was the only option. A representative for "Athena: Goddess of War", stated, "Cha Seung Won recently underwent surgery, and will be returning to the set within 2-3 days. His state is steadily improving. Instead of using drugs, the viral infection was surgically removed". The agent continued, "Although Cha Seung Won was hospitalized for 20 days, the script hasn't been altered, but the storyboard has been edited.
