Street punk band, Rux, has courted controversy recently once again after lead singer, Won Jong Hee, was reported to the police for stealing beef from a restaurant. According to officials from the police station, Won had a gathering with over 30 friends on the 18th of last month. Under the influence of alcohol and lacking beef, Won went to a nearby kitchen of another restaurant and took 1.5 kg worth of Korean beef (which is more expensive than imported beef). Won was subsequently reported to the police, although he has pleaded for leniency since he has since paid up the full amount for what he has taken to the affected restaurant. Rux has stirred up plenty of controversy in the past, as Won has been arrested, drug tested, and accused of running a brothel in the past. Rux also infamously caused MBC to change the name of its music show back in 2005. During a performance on Music Camp back in 2005, members of fellow punk bands, Couch and the Spiky Brats, came on stage and exposed their genitals, causing a huge controversy in Korea. The members were imprisoned for three months for their misdemeanors, and they were banned forever from television. Music Camp was subsequently canceled, and Music Core was born.
