Newcomer band Delight is going about promotions of their album in a rather unconventional way. Usually, we have television ads, viral videos, teasers, and promotional pictures but has anyone advertised themselves through an iPhone app? The group released their first song Hedgehog's Dilemma on the 8th and went about promoting this in a more futuristic way as they truly grasp technology and use it to their own advantage. Through the application you can download music and viral videos, check out the band's bio, refer them to a friend, and even read each of the member's personal blogs. On the downside the app is a whopping 78.1MB file, and no way would I have gotten it if the girl in the picture hadn't been so darn cute. After downloading the app for myself I can tell you that the layout is quite simple yet appealing to the eye and it's quite interesting to look at and read through. However, there's a catch, the whole application is in Korean so those of you who can't read it might have a bit of trouble... but for those of you who harness the skills to read and understand Korean and also own an iPhone, you can just search "delight 1? (hedgehog's dilemma)" in iTunes and download it for yourselves. And if you're dirt cheap like me, you'll relish upon the fact that this app is free. With Samsung and LG releasing cool new phones left and right, the iPhone really isn't that popular in Korea as it is here in the states. With lack of a huge iPhone userbase in Korea, will this effect the group's promotion plans? We'll have to see but it definitely did work on me as I was curious enough to take a listen to their song and to immediately fall in love with its funky retro beat. Take a listen while I delete this enormous app off my phone!
