Continuing the Horror theme for Halloween... The successful Korean psychological thriller, “Janghwa Hongryeon” alternately called, “A Tale of Two Sisters” is being remade into an American version called “The Uninvited”. The original version features Im Soo Jung and Moon Geun Young as two sisters who return home from a mental institution to find a cruel stepmother and their dead mother’s ghost. The expected release date for the American remake is January 2009 and will have the same producers of "The Ring" (Japanese remake) and "Disturbia". Emily Browning, Arielle Kebbel, Elizabeth Banks, and David Strathairn have been casted as daughter, sister, stepmother, and father respectively. The original Korean version has been nominated for several international film awards and both Im Soo Jung and director Kim Ji Woon won awards regarding their work. It seems Hollywood love making remakes of Korean movies.
