On January 10, K-Pop idol siblings ASTRO's Moonbin and Billlie's Sua appeared as guests on MBC's 'DNA Mate', opening up about their surprisingly awkward relationship.
First, as soon as Sua arrived and greeted Moonbin and fellow member Sanha in the group's practice room, the air immediately became awkward. It was soon revealed from the siblings' interviews that they didn't know much about each other, causing laughter.
Furthermore, according to Sua, Moonbin has not been answering her calls for the past 2 weeks as of the variety program's filming date. Hearing this, Moonbin explained, "I kept thinking that I was going to call you back, but I forgot."
When asked why she calls Moonbin so often, Sua said, "I think of oppa as my role model, and I need a lot of advice. I usually call during practice, when I feel like I have a question to ask."
However, it was also revealed that Moonbin is the type of older brother to take good care of his younger sister from behind, giving Sua his credit card for her to freely use. Moonbin was then asked in the studio, "Does she use the card a lot?". Moonbin answered, "She uses it a lot. I think she's used about 3~4 million KRW (~ $2,400~3,200 USD). She bought earpieces for stages and a camera."
In fact, Moonbin and Sua shared that they haven't spent much time together growing up due to the fact that both had spent long years as idol trainees, living outside of their family homes. On this episode of 'DNA Mate', the siblings went out to eat with just the two of them for the first time ever, giving Moonbin a chance to find out what kind of foods his younger sister prefers.
Over their meal, Sua opened up about how much she relies on her brother, saying, "I was the youngest at home, but in my team, I'm the oldest unnie. So I always feel pressured to show my members a 'model' image. So when I feel overwhelmed, the only person I can call is oppa. But you don't pick up the phone, so then I can't vent my frustration to anyone else." Here, Sua couldn't help but burst into tears, adding on, "Just having you pick up my call assures me that I have at least one person on my side."
After the meal, the siblings decided to go bungee jumping ahead of the new year. Sua went first, surprising everyone with her enthusiasm. Moonbin commented later on, "I don't know when she became so fearless. When we were kids, she was afraid of everything."
With Sua watching from the ground, Moonbin also had no choice but to jump at once without any hesitation. The idol wished, "I hope Sua will always be happy in 2023," before leaping off the ledge.
After spending the day together, Sua reflected, "We used to play all the time as kids. In our childhood photos, we are always smiling goofily. It felt a little bit like we went back to our childhood, just like laughing and playing." Moonbin stated, "This is the first time in our lives that we spent a day together, just the two of us. It was meaningful. I learned a lot of new things about Sua. She's not as easily scared any more, but she's still a crybaby. I think we grew closer."
Doesnt Sua reminds you of Sejeong?
