On February 11, (G)I-DLE's leader Soyeon appeared as a guest on KBS2's 'Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook', where she explained her decision to be a harsh judge on the ongoing MBC idol survival program, 'My Teenage Girl'.
First, Soyeon revealed what it was like for her to take on the role of a judge on an idol survival show, after her own experience participating in a survival competition. "I understand the feelings of those girls in front of me better than anyone. I understand the desperation, and I understand what they want to become, since I am someone who went through that. I end up empathizing with the contestants a lot," she remarked.
Next, Yoo Hee Yeol mentioned Soyeon's knack for speaking the harsh truth as a judge. Yoo Hee Yeol commented, "Soyeon once said to a contestant, 'This was the worst stage I have seen today, there's nothing worth even getting angry about.' She also told the audience members who were there to cast their votes, 'You must click the button responsibly'. That is not something you can say without a great amount of courage. Wasn't that hard for you to say?"
Soyeon responded, "Usually, I am not good at telling people what they do not want to hear. But for me, as soon as I accepted the position of judge on this show, I felt that I should just become a villain. I approached the position with the mind of carrying the responsibility that follows with such a role. I thought that it was important for me to become someone who could help these girls in any way that I could. It is my role to tell these girls what they need to hear. Even looking back on my days as a trainee, there were times when I needed someone to tell me that I was doing something wrong. So now, I've become that person who says those difficult words."
In addition, Soyeon performed a remake of Block B's "NalinA" on this day, as a part of 'Sketchbook's ongoing music collaboration project, 'With You'.
In my opinion what she did was right
I didn’t watch the show but saw fair amount of her videos
I can easily say that her method is much better than GP999 judges’ one they barely taught anything to the girls in GP999 they either didn’t guide them (C-Group) or sugarcoat everything they did (K-Group) and now Kep1er has a very bad line distribution system that probably will never change and some that still struggle or have no strength but made it to the group.

Soyeon did a great job by calling out fans and their favoritism over beautiful contestants also it seems like she and other judges in the show are teaching the girl well- (even tho this show is kind of too controversial to be fixed)
