A2O MAY is gearing up for a high-profile return this month.
On Aug. 8 at 8:08 p.m. CST, members CHENYU, SHIJIE, QUCHANG, MICHE, and KAT dropped a teaser on their official social media channels confirming their third single, ‘B.B.B (Bigger Badder Better)’. The clip shows the silver “8.8.8” mark morphing into the iridescent ‘B.B.B’ logo, as a swarm of butterflies illuminates the scene before the bold phrase “Bigger Badder Better” appears—hinting at a leveled-up sound and concept.
The new release will also feature three trainees from A2O’s Rookies unit LTG (Low Teen Girls). Set against a school backdrop, the music video casts A2O LTG as underclassmen who admire the stylish seniors A2O MAY, adding a fresh dynamic to the storyline and raising expectations for the two teams’ on-screen synergy.
A2O MAY officially debuted in December 2024 with ‘Under My Skin (A2O)’, crafted under the direction of legendary producer Lee Soo Man, who serves as the group’s key producer and “visionary leader.” Since then, the act has defined its identity around sleek, Gen Z energy in the Zalpha Pop lane.
In April, the group’s second single ‘BOSS’ cracked Mediabase’s U.S. Mainstream Top 40 for three straight weeks—peaking in the mid-30s—marking a historic high for an all-Chinese female act on the format.
Their global footprint has grown on major stages, from China’s state-run CCTV music program ‘China Music Top Chart’ (中国音乐TOP榜) to iHeartRadio/102.7 KIIS-FM’s summer festival ‘Wango Tango’ in California.
Ahead of the comeback—their first in four months—A2O MAY plans to roll out more teaser content. They also recently unveiled their official fandom name, MAYnia, and have expanded fan engagement via Blooming Chatbot’s next-gen platform ‘Blooming Talk’, which offers real-time messaging and AI voice calls with artists from the A2O roster.
The single ‘B.B.B (Bigger Badder Better)’ is slated to drop later in August.
