On August 8, Goo Hye Sun took to her Instagram to express frustration over the media's constant mention of her divorce to actor Ahn Jae Hyun, which took place 5 years ago.
Goo Hye Sun criticized the constant mention of Ahn Jae Hyun being "Divorced 5 years ago," and expressed her wishes to not be mentioned. She wrote, "I do not believe it is ethical journalism to perpetually brand every news headline with the keywords 'divorced 5 years ago.' My divorce process with my ex-husband went on for quite a long time due to our conflicting views and resulted in a settlement in which both parties chose not to pursue the truth behind the other's claims. It was not a reconciliation between the two involved parties, but still, it was a promise between both sides to uphold our duties to each other."
She voiced, "Therefore, to repeatedly allude to this matter of our divorce in a way that brings up to mind the other party, even though the divorce did not end well, constitutes dirty play. It is my wish that those who are in charge of writing and producing many of today's provocative gossip programs and content will realize that asking certain questions meant to trigger certain answers or responses from my ex-husband may be considered an act of harm against that person."
However, Korean netizens are expressing opinions opposite to Goo Hye Sun's and, in turn, criticizing her latest post. Many Korean netizens are criticizing the actress for being the one who initially publicized their divorce and released the couple's conversation on social media.
