Singer G-Dragon posted a cryptic message on social media following the announcement of the cancellation of MBC’s variety show 'Good Day.'
On the 20th, G-Dragon uploaded a screenshot from a broadcast on his secondary social media account. The image included the caption, "Wake up in this harsh world."
The photo is from a 2012 episode of MBC’s 'Infinite Challenge' during a special talk show segment called 'Hang Show,' featuring HaHa.
Recently, 'Good Day,' the MBC variety show in which G-Dragon participates as a producer, decided to cancel its upcoming sixth episode, which was scheduled to air on the 23rd. The cancellation follows controversy surrounding actor Kim Soo Hyun, one of the show's participants.
On the 20th, MBC released an official statement explaining that the program would take a week off "to reorganize the show." Instead, a special episode of 'I Live Alone' will air in the time slot. 'Good Day' is a music project variety show where G-Dragon collaborates with figures from various fields to create a song representing the year. The program marks G-Dragon’s much-anticipated return to variety television.
However, the show faced a backlash after Kim Soo Hyun became embroiled in controversy over past dating rumors with the late actress Kim Sae Ron. The production team had initially planned to edit out Kim Soo Hyun’s appearances as much as possible, but the extent of the pre-recorded footage made it challenging to do so.
On the 17th, the production team explained, "We decided to edit out the footage to protect the program's integrity and respect the sincerity of other participants and the viewers' support." However, as the controversy persisted, the situation ultimately led to this week's cancellation.
