Choi Daniel, Jung Hye In, and Han Sang Jin appeared as guests on the February 15 episode of JTBC’s ‘Knowing Bros’.
During the episode, Choi Daniel expressed his admiration for Kang Ho Dong, saying, "I'm not just saying this because I'm here, but I'm a huge fan of ‘Great Escape.’" He also shared his excitement for the new season.
In response, Kang Ho Dong turned to Shindong, jokingly saying, "It’s because you refused to do it." However, Shindong clarified, "I never got a call. I found out from the news. I didn’t reject them—they rejected me," revealing that he had been effectively dropped from the show rather than voluntarily leaving.
As Lee Sang Min commented that "PD Jung Jong Yeon is known for being quite cold and strict," Shindong added, "He's not directing this season," drawing laughter from the cast.
The upcoming TVING original ‘Great Escape: The Story’, set to air in the first half of the year, will feature a revamped lineup. Shindong, Kim Jong Min, and P.O will not return, while Kang Ho Dong, Kim Dong Hyun, and Yoo Byung Jae will be joined by new members Go Kyung Pyo, Baekhyun, and Yeo Jin Goo.
Meanwhile, another humorous moment unfolded when Kang Ho Dong knelt in front of Han Sang Jin. The actor recalled a past incident related to SBS’s ‘Ya Shim Man Man’, revealing that he had gone through multiple interviews and meetings to appear on the show, only to be told at the last minute that it might be difficult due to his drama schedule.
He added, "After finishing the drama, I had even more time, so I don’t know who made that decision." Kang Ho Dong, realizing the situation, admitted, "It was probably me," looking flustered.
Han Sang Jin also shared another incident from the past, saying he was offered a spot on the survival variety show ‘Let's Go Time Expeditionary Force Season 3’ after starring in ‘Six Flying Dragons’. He said, "I heard Kang Ho Dong was considering joining, and I wanted to work with him so much that I even agreed to cut my appearance fee in half. But in the end, he didn’t join."
He humorously added, "It wasn’t Kang Ho Dong’s fault, but that show was extremely tough. And since I lowered my pay once, I still get paid that amount. I completely ruined myself," playfully blaming Kang Ho Dong, who then got down on his knees and apologized.
