Dream High

"Dream High" originally aired in 2011, featuring the story of six high school students striving to become successful musicians. The drama starred major stars like Bae Suzy, Kim Soo-hyun, Taecyeon, Wooyoung, and IU, which added to its star power. Twelve years later, in 2023, this popular K-drama is adapted to a musical and features songs from the original soundtrack, but the story shows the story of the main characters 10 years later. Unlike other musicals that focus on music performances, “Dream High” focuses mainly on dance performances.

One of the most iconic K-dramas of all time, “Crash Landing on You,” quickly became a cultural phenomenon with star-studded casts including Son Ye Jin, Hyun Bin, Seo Ji Hye, and Kim Jung Hyun. This popular drama was adapted into a stage musical in 2022 and drew on the show's iconic themes of love, loss, and redemption, offering fans a new way to connect with the story.

Another Miss Oh

"Another Miss Oh" is one of the highest-rated K-dramas in cable television history, and it is no surprise that it was later adapted to a musical. In 2020, "Another Miss Oh" was adapted into a musical that captured the playful and emotional elements of the original drama and featured hit songs from the original soundtrack. With catchy tunes and strong performances, the show managed to bring out the charm of the original while adding the extra flair that musicals are known for.

Itaewon Class

One of the most popular K-dramas, “Itaewon Class,” follows the story of a young man named Park Sae-ro-yi, who seeks revenge after his father’s death and opens a bar-restaurant in Itaewon, a vibrant neighbourhood in Seoul. The show, based on a webtoon, is known for its strong themes of perseverance, social justice, and love. It is adapted into a Japanese musical that will premiere at Tokyo’s Brillia Hall in June 2025.

Boys Over Flowers

"Boys Over Flowers" is a smash hit K-drama that plays a huge role in the rise of Hallyu, or the Korean Wave. It’s a classic story of romance, drama, and high school rivalry. Given the massive popularity of "Boys Over Flowers," it was no surprise that it would eventually be adapted into a musical. The musical version of "Boys Over Flowers" was first created in Japan in 2016 and then later premiered in South Korea in February 2017 at Hongik Daehangno Art Center in Seoul.

The Moon that Embraces the Sun

"The Moon That Embraces the Sun" is a historical fantasy drama set in the Joseon Dynasty, centered around the forbidden love between a crown prince and a shaman. The drama was known for its beautiful storytelling, strong performances, and intricate historical setting. The musical adaptation of "The Moon That Embraces the Sun," first premiered in 2013, excellently capturing the romance and drama of the original series while immersing audiences in the majestic world of the Joseon Dynasty.
