On January 28, comedian Hong Hyun Hee was absent from the '2024 MBC Entertainment Awards' due to severe back pain, her agency TN Entertainment confirmed to OSEN on the 29th.

A representative from the agency stated, "Hong Hyun Hee had originally planned to attend the ceremony but visited the hospital after a recording session due to worsening back pain. Her condition became so severe that walking was difficult, and following medical advice, she had no choice but to withdraw from the event."

They further explained, "She has not been diagnosed with a herniated disc or any specific condition, but her symptoms worsened after long recording sessions and participating in childcare. She is now focusing on rest and recovery to ensure a healthy return."

Hong Hyun Hee  was scheduled to appear at the '2024 MBC Entertainment Awards' on January 28, but due to her health issues, she was unable to attend. Despite winning the Best Female Excellence Award, her makeup artist, 'Shop ddung,' accepted the award on her behalf, drawing concern from fans and industry colleagues.

Earlier that day, an exclusive OSEN report revealed that Hong’s absence was due to her severe back pain. Multiple entertainment insiders stated that she had sought medical treatment after her recording session but ultimately had to miss the event as the pain persisted.
