
Premiering at the end of May, Channel A’s new quiz show 'Brain Academy' brings together six of South Korea’s brightest minds from the entertainment world to tackle high-level knowledge challenges created by the nation’s top scholars. The cast includes Jun Hyun Moo, Ha Suk Jin, Lee Sang Yeob, Yoon So Hee, Hwang Je Seong, and Gwedo, who will form a team and compete to earn the coveted "Knowledge Medals."
Leading the team is Jun Hyun Moo, a celebrated MC with a double major in English Literature and Sociology from Yonsei University. He is fluent in four languages and is often referred to as the "Language Brain." Actor Ha Seok Jin, who graduated from Hanyang University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and gained fame as the winner of Netflix’s 'The Devil’s Plan,' takes on the role of the "Engineering Brain."
Lee Sang Yeob, also a graduate of Hanyang University and holder of a Level 1 Korean History Certificate, will participate as the "History Brain" with the goal of acing all history-related questions. Yoon So Hee, known as a gifted student in the entertainment industry, graduated early from a science high school and studied bioengineering at KAIST. She brings the credentials of the "Prodigy Brain."
Comedian Hwang Je Seong is the only comedian in the cast and brings an academic twist. He was part of a high school scholarship program and earned top scores in math on the national college entrance exam. A graduate of Sungkyunkwan University, he is ready to demonstrate his abilities as the "Unexpected Brain." Gwedo, a popular science communicator with 1.29 million YouTube subscribers, joins as the "Science Brain," aiming to showcase the expertise that built his reputation.
The production team of 'Brain Academy' stated that this group of outstanding minds from the entertainment world will offer a new kind of quiz show experience that people of all ages can enjoy.
They added that solving questions created by Korea’s top scholars will provide viewers with a natural opportunity for deep learning. They encouraged viewers to look forward to the launch of 'Brain Academy,' a knowledge-based quiz show that will both stimulate the mind and bring laughter.
'Brain Academy' will premiere on Channel A at the end of May.
