Hyesung (28, Park Hye-seong), a member of the boy group VANNER, has been discharged from military service due to mental health issues.
On December 16th, Kleb Entertainment, Hyesung's agency, announced through VANNER's official fan cafe, "Hyesung will be discharged from military service on December 16th."
The agency explained, "Two weeks after entering the training camp, Hyesung was admitted to the Armed Forces Daejeon Hospital due to pre-existing panic and mental disorders. After undergoing a thorough examination, it was determined that he was unable to continue normal military service and required ongoing treatment. As a result, he has been discharged."
They continued, "We deeply apologize for causing concern to fans with this sudden news. We fully understand the fans' worries about Hyesung, but we ask for your understanding that we cannot provide additional details beyond what has already been shared. We will continue to do our utmost to ensure that Hyesung can focus on his treatment."
Hyesung had initially entered the training camp for active-duty military service on the 4th, but his mental health conditions, including panic disorder, led to his hospitalization and eventual discharge from the military.
Hyesung debuted as a member of VANNER in 2019 and garnered widespread love from fans after winning JTBC’s 'Peak Time' last year. He has continued to grow in popularity with songs like 'Performer,' 'Jackpot,' and 'Automatic.'
