Han Sung Soo, the founder of Pledis Entertainment and the visionary behind Seventeen and TWS, received the Prime Minister’s Commendation for his contributions to the global expansion of K-content.
On December 11th, at the 2024 Korea Content Awards (hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency) held at COEX in Seoul, Han was honored in the Overseas Advancement Contribution category.
As the founder of Pledis Entertainment, Han has been instrumental in spearheading the globalization of K-pop through exceptional planning and production. He played a pivotal role in discovering and nurturing the "top-tier group" Seventeen and "rookie of the year" TWS, while continuing to oversee their album production.
Han’s influence extends beyond Korea, garnering significant recognition internationally.
Recently, Billboard named him one of the 2024 Indie Power Players, highlighting his impact.
The publication noted, “Even a decade into their career, Seventeen continues to achieve new milestones. Han Sung Soo has enriched the K-pop landscape with his work on Seventeen and the debut of TWS this year, making it more diverse and dynamic.”
