TVING's 'RAP:PUBLIC' will be editing out rapper Koala due to his involvement in Jessi's fan assault controversy.
On October 25, a rep from the show stated, "From episode 4 on, the footage featuring Koala has been edited out. Future episodes will also be edited." 'RAP:PUBLIC' is a hip hop survival show revolving around rappers who battle it out in strategic competitions, and Koala was a part of 6Block team on the show.
However, Koala's involvement in Jessi's fan assault controversy seems to have caused backlash. CCTV revealed Koala had threatened the fan, who requested a photo, by pushing into his stomach and shoving his head.
Koala is known for participating in producing Jessi's hit tracks like "What Type of X", "Cold Blooded", and "NUNU NANA".
As previously reported, a fan, who was also a minor, had approached Jessi's group to request a photo but was assaulted by a man in Jessi's entourage in the early hours of September 29 in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam. CCTV footage showed Jessi's group trying to stop the assailant A, but Jessi left the scene shortly thereafter, raising suspicions that she ignored the fan assault by the member of her entourage. The rapper has claimed she is not friendly with the perpetrator, who is alleged to be a Chinese friend of a close associate of Jessi. Jessi has since apologized for the incident, attended police questioning, and followed up with another apology.
