NewJeans' Hanni has expressed her intention to attend the parliamentary audit.
Recently, Hanni shared on a fan communication platform, "I've made my decision. I'm going to the National Assembly for the audit," adding, "I'll be going alone."
When fans expressed concern, Hanni reassured them by saying, "You don't need to worry. I'm doing this for myself, the members, and for Bunnies (NewJeans' fans)." Hanni confidently stated, "I decided to go for Bunnies. There's nothing difficult!! I want to go!!"
Previously, on the 30th of last month, the Environment and Labor Committee (referred to as 'ELC') selected NewJeans' Hanni and HYBE’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Kim Joo Young, as a reference and a witness, respectively, for this month's parliamentary audit. The ELC plans to question them regarding "workplace harassment."
On September 11, Hanni held an emergency live broadcast with other NewJeans members, where she revealed that her workplace mistreatment went unheard when she brought it up to the current ADOR CEO. Hanni also claimed that a manager from another HYBE label had said "ignore her" about her.
On October 7, NewJeans' mothers revealed through 'Ilgan Sports' that they had requested CCTV footage from HYBE related to the "workplace harassment" incident, but were told that the footage had been deleted. They raised their concerns to Kim Joo Young, the chair of ADOR’s board, and requested measures to prevent this from happening again but were only told, "There is no evidence."
In response, Belift Lab, ILLIT's label, issued a strong rebuttal, stating, "We strongly demand an immediate halt to the baseless attempts to undermine our rookie artist, following the absurd plagiarism claims and now the unfounded greeting controversy."
Belift Lab further emphasized, "The protocol team member (manager) of ILLIT never made the remark 'ignore her' about any NewJeans member, and the ILLIT members have never passed by the NewJeans members without greeting them. These facts were confirmed through a review of CCTV footage and an investigation of the protocol team members and artists, conducted at the request of Belift Lab on June 13, following the concerns raised by NewJeans' parents."
Hanni is scheduled to attend the parliamentary audit on October 15.
