Singer/song-writer Kwon Jin Ah has decided to part ways with Antenna, her agency of 10 years.
On September 5 KST, Antenna announced, "After a thorough discussion with the artist Kwon Jin Ah, it hs been agreed that our beautiful relationship will reach its conclusion. It was an honor to be a part of the time that Kwon Jin Ah spent moving the hearts of many with her beautiful music. We sincerely thank Kwon Jin Ah for the past 10 years and truly wish that she may continue to write down the brightest stories through her songs."
For some netizens, Kwon Jin Ah's departure from Antenna suggested the music label's significant change in sound and image. Previously, with its roster of artists like Kwon Jin Ah, Sam Kim, Peppertones, Lucid Fall, Jung Jae Hyung, and more, Antenna boasted an image as a key label leading the indie music scene.
However, with the recruitment of more mainstream acts like Lee Hyori, Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Mi Joo, and Super Junior's Kyuhyun, in addition to the departure of more musically-oriented artists like Kwon Jin Ah and Sam Kim, some believe that Antenna has effectively entered the mainstream market as a competitor, losing some of its color as a music powerhouse in the process.
