2024 has proven to be a challenging year in terms of digital sales for JYP Entertainment. Several of the agency’s top artists have faced a noticeable decline in digital performance, causing a stir among both fans and netizens.
Known for producing some of K-pop’s most successful acts, JYP has typically maintained a strong presence on digital charts, but recent releases have failed to reach the heights expected of the powerhouse label.
In 2024, all the JYP artists besides DAY6 haven't reached the top 20 on Melon's digital performance chart. While this has raised concerns among some netizens about the declining success of these artists, others view the results as a sign that JYP Entertainment is avoiding any form of chart manipulation.
Korean netizens commented:
"Way better than getting caught for chart manipulation, like 5000 times better, lol. It's disgusting how they keep mocking and framing things."
"I listen to them often~ Keep it up!"
"DAY6, wow!"
"Hmm, I don't recognize any of these songs."
"At least I know they're not manipulating the charts; this is what real numbers look like."
"Just because their rankings aren't high doesn’t mean it's about trustworthiness or chart manipulation, lol."
"Personally, I like NMIXX's B-sides better, haha."
"I’m already doing it, but please keep doing what you’re doing. I’m enjoying it."
"They're not paying enough attention to digital performance, lol. Maybe they really need to do some chart manipulation."
"The songs are just bad, so people aren’t listening much."
"So, you're saying every company except JYP manipulates the charts? I don’t think we need to criticize their results, but the comments are getting weird."
