A complaint has been filed regarding WINNER member Lee Seung Hoon's dance performance during a ceremonial first pitch.
On August 29, a netizen filed a complaint urging KBO Commissioner Heo Koo Yeon to "take immediate and thorough measures to ensure that inappropriate first pitches that disrupt the flow of the game do not occur," calling for action from all teams.
Lee Seung Hoon was invited to throw the first pitch on August 28 during the game between the Lotte Giants and Hanwha Eagles at Busan's Sajik Baseball Stadium. Being from Busan, Lee enthusiastically declared, "The WINNER of Lotte has arrived. Let's hear it for the Giants! I'll give you all the winning energy of WINNER." He then mimicked a pitching motion but instead danced on the mound for 18 seconds. This performance seemed unplanned, as catcher Son Seong Bin was in his catching stance but received no pitch. Eventually, when Lee did throw the ball, it bounced off high after landing on home plate and went behind Son Seong Bin, who had to get up and retrieve it.
This led to criticism that it was an "inappropriate first pitch that could disrupt the flow of the game," and eventually, a formal complaint was filed.
However, Lee Seung Hoon seemed pleased with his performance, as he uploaded a video of the pitch on his personal account with the caption "First pitch #LotteGiants."
