"I-LAND 2: N/a” has wrapped up, resulting in the formation of the upcoming girl group izna, set to debut later this year under WAKEONE Entertainment. This survival show was a collaboration between Mnet and Teddy Park’s The Black Label. The group consists of seven members: Mai, Bang Jeemin, Yoon Jiyoon, Koko, Ryu Sarang, Choi Jungeun, and Jeong Saebi.
Let’s delve into izna’s pre-debut members journeys before their appearance on “I-LAND 2: N/a.”
CHOI JUNGEUN
Choi Jungeun took first place on “I-LAND 2: N/A.” She was also a contestant on “CAP-TEEN” in 2020 but got eliminated in the first episode for not receiving a pass. She came back stronger and won “I-LAND 2,” earning her a place in the pre-debut girl group izna.
BANG JEEMIN
Second rank holder of “I-LAND 2: N/a” Bang Jeemin previously contested on Belift Lab’s girl group survival show “R U Next?” in 2023 and was a trainee under HYBE. She ranked 7th in the final episode of the show and missed the opportunity to debut with ILLIT.
YOON JIYOON
Yoon Jiyoon secured third place at “I-LAND 2: N/a” and ended up becoming a pre-debut member of izna. Prior to this, she was a trainee under Teddy Park’s “The Black Label,” the agency collaborating with Mnet for the survival show.
KOKO
Narai Koko, a Japanese member of the pre-debut girl group izna, earned the fourth place based on global votes in Mnet’s survival show “I-LAND 2: N/a.” She previously trained under Avex Management, a prominent Japanese entertainment company.
RYU SARANG
Ryu Sarang, the fifth-ranked contestant on “I-LAND 2: N/a,” previously showcased her talent as a child dancer for the legendary boy group H.O.T. She also passed auditions of both Source Music and JYP Entertainment prior to becoming a part of izna.
MAI
Tomioka Mai is another Japanese member of the pre-debut girl group izna, who ranked sixth in “I-LAND 2: N/a.” She previously auditioned for WAKEONE in the fall of 2022. Mai passed the first screening for LDH’s audition, “iCON Z ̴Dreams For Children ̴” in 2021.
