Actor Nam Yoon Soo has shared an update after donating a kidney to his father.
On July 16 KST, Nam Yoon Soo posted on his Instagram, "I saw it as something I naturally had to do, accompanied by small resolutions and a mix of emotions. As time has passed, I am happy to have given my father better days."
He continued, "I am truly grateful to the fans who first learned about this through the news and supported me, and to the hospital staff who warmly welcomed us for several days. I aim to be someone who can readily offer a helping hand in the face of fear and hesitation."
Nam Yoon Soo also expressed his support for other patients awaiting transplants, saying, "I sincerely cheer for those who are waiting for their turn."
According to his agency, Nam Yoon Soo successfully donated a kidney to his father on June 19 and has since been discharged in good health. The news of his kidney donation was first shared by the hospital on social media.
The Catholic University of Korea Eunpyeong St. Mary’s Hospital announced on its official Facebook account, "Actor Nam Yoon Soo donated his kidney to his father, helping cure his father's illness. Both the donor and recipient have recovered quickly and have been discharged in good health."
