Actor Jae Hee's agency made an official statement on May 22 KST, announcing that the Seoul's Gangseo Police Station dismissed the fraud complaint filed by Mr. A and concluded the investigation without charging Jae Hee.
Previously, Jae Hee's former manager, Mr. A, caused a stir by alleging that he lost contact with Jae Hee after lending him 60 million won in February last year for the purpose of opening an acting academy. Subsequently, Mr. A filed a fraud complaint against Jaehee at the Southern Police Station in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province.
In response to this, Jaehee's representatives stated, "Mr. A served as the representative of Jaehee's former agency. Amidst a conflict and legal dispute with investors around January 2023, he proposed to Jae Hee and other actors to terminate their exclusive contracts with the former agency." The statement continued, "In fact, around February 2023, Mr. A terminated Jae Hee's exclusive contract as the representative of his former agency. Shortly after, Jae Hee's exclusive contract was terminated without receiving the unpaid appearance fee of 70 million won." They emphasized that Mr. A resigned from his position.
Jae Hee's representatives further asserted, "Jae Hee suffered significant harm due to the publication of his real name, malicious slander, and dissemination of indiscriminate false information." They added, "We will vigorously address any actions that tarnish the actor's character and reputation with malicious false information, without leniency or compromise."
Additionally, Jae Hee's representatives stated their intention to file a complaint against Mr. A for spreading false information, defamation, and making baseless accusations.
