In the episode of MBC's entertainment show 'Where is My Home', broadcast on April 25, singers Park Joon Hyung and Brian set out to find a rural house near the capital region for a father who had moved to the countryside on his own.
In this episode, they search for a new rural home for the client's father. Currently, the client's father is living in Uiseong, Gyeongsang Province, wishing to spend his old age close to nature, while his mother and daughters reside in the capital region. Concerned about his father living alone, the client is looking for a rural house near the capital where the family can easily visit.
The preferred locations were Cheonan in Chungcheongnam-do and Ganghwa in Incheon. They were looking for a property with space for planting crops and a yard. Additionally, they hoped for a hospital, train station, and terminal to be within a 30-minute drive. The ideal property would have a spacious yard, kitchen, and warehouse, allowing the family to spend time together on weekends. They mentioned a budget of 200 to 300 million KRW (145,760~218,640 USD) for the purchase.
While the two singers traveled around with comedian Jang Dong Min, Park Joon Hyung shared stories about his marriage and living with his wife and daughter.
He shared, "When I first got married, I argued with my wife a lot for the first six months. My wife is similar to Brian. I like to clean all at once but she can't stand the mess." However, Park Joon Hyung confessed, "But there are things I can't stand either. It's dishes piled up in the sink and also leaving garbage unorganized."
Brian then pointed out, "You're more obsessive (with cleaning) than I am," and Park Joon Hyung replied, "It's one thing if I only nag and don't clean but I clean everything myself." In response, comedian Jang Dong Min shared, "Even Park Joon Hyung Hyung is like this, aren't you going to be like him too when you get married?" However, Brian argued, "I don't need to worry about that. Marriage? Is not for me." Jang Dong Min replied, "People who always say they're not getting married, come to me to say, 'Oh I'm getting married next month."
However, Brian refuted, "That might be plausible if I was in my 20s or 30s. But when you get to your 40s, 'Marriage' becomes something 'unnecessary'."
The conversation continued at the filming studio and Jang Dong Min explained, "We went through that phase too. But we got married." Park Joon Hyung added, "If you try to look for someone, you won't find them. When you let it go, that's when the right person comes to you. When you seek too much, you might end up with the wrong person because you're in a hurry."
Brian agreed and shared, "I think what (Park Joon Hyung) said is true because when I get introduced to people because (acquaintances) think I would be a good match for them, I always start seeing the flaws first makes me lose interest. So I felt it was a waste of time." Park Joon Hyung empathized and added, "Effort shouldn't be put into finding someone, but rather in getting to know each other. Setting aside all things, if you have a wife and child, that's all that matters. Everything in life changes."
