On March 7 KST, various media outlets reported that KBS2's 'The Seasons - Lee Hyori's Red Carpet' would be holding its final recording on March 26.
Although a representative of KBS2 stepped up with a short response, commenting, "We cannot confirm anything at this time," insiders claim that the program has decided to wrap up with Lee Hyori's season being its last.
KBS2's 'The Seasons' began around spring of 2023 with its first installment, 'Jay Park's Drive'. In the summer, it greeted viewers with 'Choi Jung Hoon's Night Garden', while in the fall, it became 'AKMU's Last Goodbye'.
Now, with the winter installment coming to a close soon, KBS2 has decided that the season music program will not continue.
Instead, another project currently in the works may take over its time slot. Previously, KBS2 stated that veteran actress Lee Young Ae would be making her talk show MC debut with her very own program some time this year. Rumors that Lee Young Ae's talk show would replace 'The Seasons' during the Friday evening time slot arose around the same time, with KBS2 providing a quick denial.
However, many suspect that Lee Young Ae's new show is a likely candidate to take over the time slot occupied by 'The Seasons'. It's believed that Lee Young Ae will be meeting and interacting with individuals from various careers through her first ever talk show, including professional athletes, political figures, social activists, and more.
This slot was not getting the viewership KBS needed. Nice try but flopped.
