As 2023 has closed its curtains, it brought many unforgettable moments within the K-pop sphere. Among these, the achievement of the first music show win by seven K-pop groups stands out, marking a significant milestone in their careers.
1. SEVENTEEN BSS
BSS, a special unit from SEVENTEEN under Pledis Entertainment, featuring Seungkwan, DK, and Hoshi, made a splash with their digital single "Just Do it" in 2018. After a hiatus, they returned in 2023 with "Second Wind," and its hit track "Fighting" earned them their first music show win on Show Champion on February 15. To date, they've racked up eight wins with this single.
2. NMIXX
JYP Entertainment's NMIXX debuted in 2022 with "AD MARE." They celebrated their first music show win with "Love Me Like This" on Show Champion, March 29, 2023, 400 days post-debut. Now boasting five wins, including four for their track "DASH."
3. Billlie
Billlie, under Mystic Story, debuted in 2021 with "The billage of perception: chapter one" and secured their first music show win with "Eunoia" on The Show, April 4, 2023, after 510 days.
4. ZEROBASEONE
ZEROBASEONE, birthed from MNet's Boys Planet, debuted in 2023 with "YOUTH IN THE SHADE," hitting million sales at launch. Their title track "In Bloom" won on The Show within eight days of debut, a record for 2023 rookies.
5. H1-KEY
Debuting in 2022 with "Athletic Girl," H1-KEY from Grandline Group earned their first win with "SEOUL (Such a Beautiful City)" on The Show, September 5, 2023, after 608 days.
6. BOYNEXTDOOR
Formed by KOZ Entertainment, BOYNEXTDOOR debuted in 2023 with "WHO!" and quickly secured their first win with "But Sometimes" on The Show, 105 days later.
7. NiziU
NiziU is a Japanese girl group under JYP Entertainment and SME Japan. Originally formed through the reality-survival program, Nizi Project and later debuted in Japan on December 2, 2020. On October 30, 2023, they officially made a Korean debut with a single album, "Press Play". On November 8, the title track song "HEARTRIS" surprisingly got a music show win in Show Champion. It's also marked them as the first Japanese group to get a win on a Korean music show.
