On February 14 KST, YG Entertainment revealed a teaser poster for boy group TREASURE's new variety, 'Shining SOLO'.
While the members of TREASURE have received positive response for their web realities in the past, this will be the first time that the group's variety show airs on a major broadcasting station, SBS. The program will also air simultaneously in Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, and more via the respective platforms of each region.
Based on the teaser poster below, 'Shining SOLO' seems to resemble a parody of the popular ENA dating reality program, 'I Am Solo'. The house shown in the poster resembles a large house that contestants on a dating reality program live in temporarily while getting to know each other, while a question in the middle of the poster asks, "Who is your jewel boy?".
Since YG Entertainment unveiled the teaser poster on February 14, some fans have been speculating that TREASURE will star in a dating reality program with other female SNS influencers as contestants. Those who believe the rumors and speculations are strongly protesting against the program, leaving concerned comments on online communities.
Meanwhile, TREASURE's 'Shining SOLO' is set to premiere on March 3 at 12:30 PM KST.
What even is this? I have been following Treasure since not long after the debuted in 2020 and I am honestly confused on what YG is doing with these talented boys. First it was releasing little songs over a long period of time and now it's a dating reality show. I am so confused and I have a feeling the general public will be just as confused as I am
