Soccer player Hwang Ui Jo is facing additional charges for secondary harm to a sex video victim.
Hwang Ui Jo was first involved in a controversy in June of 2023 when sexual photos and videos of the footballer and various women were posted to Instagram. One victim alleged he filmed her without her consent, and Hwang Ui Jo stated the video was made with her consent.
He later revealed the victim in question is a celebrity who appears on TV and is married. As he disclosed the victim's personal details and hinted at her identity, police have now booked Hwang Ui Jo and one of his lawyers on the additional charge of inflicting secondary harm to the victim. The disclosure of identity details violates a provision under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act according to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
In other news, Hwang Ui Jo was linked to T-ara's Hyomin in January of 2022 before they broke up in March of the same year.
