Musician Lee Young Ji responded indirectly to some K-netizens criticizing her for holding a solo concert, when she has "no songs".
Recently, Lee Young Ji announced her first solo concert in Seoul, 'The Main Character', a part of her ongoing 1st Asia tour. The event will take place from February 17-18 at the Blue Square Mastercard Hall, with ticket sale details coming soon.
Shortly after the concert announcement, some netizens asked questions like, "She doesn't have any albums, and she only has a handful of songs. How can someone like that have a solo concert? Is it a talk concert?"
Others wrote, "Is it a standup comedy show kekekekeke", "Just say it's a fan meeting and not a concert. There's gonna be more talking and games than actual performances", "Drop the guest lineup so people can decide whether to go or not based on the guests", and more.
In response, on January 7, the musician wrote on her Instagram story, "I promise you will not regret it. Everyone, come hang at my concert. The tickets go on sale..."
In another story update, Lee Young Ji responded to a DM she received from a fan, asking, "Can an old person come? I don't know much about rap. But I want to have fun. Just worried about crashing the party.." To this, Lee Young Ji remarked, "Even if you come not knowing anything, I'll make sure you have a good time for real! I'm gonna perform songs that I haven't released yet and we're gonna have a lot of fun."
Meanwhile, Lee Young Ji has currently released around 11 singles since her debut. She has participated in over 20 songs by fellow musicians as a featuring artist.
She’s been getting so unnecessary hate for no good reason. I hope it’s a massive success and shuts up the haters.
