On November 21, G-Dragon cleared his name of drug suspicions as the comprehensive drug test from his fingernails returned negative.
On this day, the National Institute of Forensic Science recently informed the Incheon Police Agency's drug crime investigation unit that a detailed analysis of G-Dragon's fingernails showed no drug presence.
Following the latest development, Yonhap News TV, which held an exclusive interview with G-Dragon back on November 13, revealed unreleased footage from the interview where he shares his candid thoughts and how he feels about the whole drug case against him.
In the newly released footage, G-Dragon firmly denied drug use and opened up about the difficulties he faced during the past few days. When the interviewer asked, "Is there anything you want to say to yourself?" G-Dragon began by saying, "This might be something too personal but when there are difficult things that happen, I always say to myself, 'It's okay, you're doing great. Don't blame yourself as if casting a spell, but since the articles (about the drug suspicion) was released today, to be honest I wasn't able to tell myself anything for the past few days. So, I want to say sorry because I didn't say anything to myself."
The artist also clarified that he had not used drugs as a means to relieve stress. G-Dragon stated, "I don't know how people think (about celebrities), but if I were to share my thoughts, I do not do that. Personally, I find different ways to relieve the emptiness or the stress from time to time. I've been finding my own ways. However, the path to that should never involve drugs. I have not used drugs."
G-Dragon also shared a message to his fans and said, "As a public figure and entertainer, I feel sorry for causing concerns with my recent actions. I deeply regret any worries I may have caused. Please don't be overly concerned, and I hope you can observe the outcome. Afterward, I aspire to return to my original self, back to my original position as an artist and eagerly look forward to the day when I can return with a smile as a singer. I hope we can spend the remaining time together with that positive anticipation. Thank you, and I love you."
With the latest negative drug results, K-netizens have completely changed their perspective on the case. Many sympathize with G-Dragon and have considered the injustice he has faced due to his fame.
K-netizens commented, "I feel so bad for him," "GD I support you," "I'll be waiting for you to return with an album," "This hurts my heart. How will people who ridiculed him handle the karma that will come back to them?" "It must have been so hard for him. I hope that he sued everyone who ridiculed him when he said that we should wait for the results and all the people who left trashy comments," "He must feel so injust, I didn't leave comments but I misunderstood him at first too," "I feel so bad for doubting him even a little bit. I'm glad he's enduring this and I really hope only good things come his way now," "I only trusted the police since they announced he's been booked under suspicions of drug use," "I think all that's left is for GD to sue everyone," and "The police are so wrong for taking one person's word and starting this whole thing."
He has no need to apologise to anyone, he shouldn't have any regrets, he has done absolutely nothing wrong, and proved it.
.
There are a lot of people who should be grovelling on their knees to him, begging forgiveness.
.
I hope the police are going to compensate him for his losses, that legal team will have cost a fortune, and he's lost a load of endorsements, or at least had them put on hold.
