A dark, new mystery has begun with the premiere of SBS's new Fri-Sat drama, 'The Escape of Seven'.
Signaling the return of the hit scriptwriter Kim Soon Ok, 'The Escape of Seven' follows the story of seven wrongdoers who become entangled in a vile murder mystery case. Each character struggles to suppress the truth and fulfill their dark desires, without regard to the sacrifices they must make in order to achieve their goals.
During its first broadcast on September 15, 'The Escape of Seven' recorded an average viewership rating of 6.0% according to Nielsen Korea, along with an average citywide rating of 5.7%, an impressive start for a weekend drama.
On this first episode, various characters approached the young high schooler Bang Da Mi (played by Jung Lael), each with their own, hidden reasons. For Geum Ra Hee (played by Hwang Jung Eum), the chief executive director of a drama production company, Bang Da Mi is her own daughter whom she abandoned years ago. She approaches Da Mi again suddenly in order to extract investment funds from Da Mi's wealthy grandfather.
The popular and beautiful Han Mo Ne (played by Lee Yoo Bi) immediately befriends Bang Da Mi when the girl transfers to Myung Joo Girls' High School. She then begins transforming Da Mi so that she resembles herself, and soon, a man named Min Do Hyuk (played by Lee Joon) comes searching for Mo Ne at school. Instead of the real Mo Ne, Min Do Hyuk confronts Da Mi, believing that she's Mo Ne.
From there, Da Mi's life is a series of calculated misfortunes and misunderstandings, ultimately being abandoned by her mother once again at the end of the episode.
The next episode of 'The Escape of Seven' is set to air on SBS tomorrow night (September 16) at 10 PM KST. Are you looking for a dark, new mystery to watch?
