According to a report from Maeil Business News on June 12, renowned Korean vocalist Park Hyo Shin made significant real estate investments last year.
He acquired a building in Hannam-dong, Seoul, for 12 billion KRW (9.3 million USD) and another nearby building for 8.3 billion KRW (6.5 million USD). Despite the challenging real estate market conditions caused by high-interest rates, Park Hyo Shin boldly invested a total of 20.3 billion KRW (15.8 million USD) in purchasing these two properties.
The Maeil Business Newspaper revealed that Park Hyo Shin acquired a building with a land area of 266 square meters (2,863 square feet) in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, through his corporation Herbigharo. Interestingly, there is no recorded mortgage on the certified copy of the property register, suggesting that Park Hyo Shin may have made these purchases in cash, without obtaining a loan. Reports state that both buildings are situated in close proximity to Park Hyo Shin's office for his corporation.
Experts in the real estate industry have assessed Park Hyo Shin's investment in the building as a wise move due to its prime location and potential future value in Hannam-dong.
Park Hyo Shin, known as one of Korea's legendary vocalists, has left a remarkable legacy with numerous hit songs such as "Snow Flower," "Wild Flower," "Good Person," "Yearning," and "Memories Resemble Love." He has also been actively engaged in musical theater, recently captivating audiences with his performance in the musical 'Beethoven: Beethoven Secret SEASON 2'. This musical is inspired by a letter found among Beethoven's belongings after his death, addressed to his immortal lover (Unsterbliche Geliebte), and spans the years from 1810 to 1812.
Meanwhile, it is worth mentioning that in 2014, Park Hyo Shin encountered financial difficulties and applied for rehabilitation procedures through the court, following a dispute with his former agency.
