Since the official release of 'FACE,' Jimin's first solo album, there has not been a day that goes by without news of a new record being set by him on different music charts worldwide. There have been unprecedented buying and streaming records on numerous music consumption platforms such as iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, Melon, Bilibili, and many others, as previously reported.

This time, the talk has shifted to Jimin's album's performance in Japan, the second largest music market globally. 

On the day of the album's release, the Oricon chart, which is the leading music chart in the country, reported that Jimin had recorded 222,120 album sales on the first day. This placed Jimin in the 3rd position among the Korean artists with the biggest first-day sales for Korean albums on the Oricon Daily chart, only behind his own group BTS that occupied the top 2 positions. This also placed him in 5th position among the Korean artists with the highest first-day album sales in general on the chart, again the top 4 positions being held by his own group BTS.

As such, in both cases, Jimin became the Korean solo artist with the highest first-day album sales on the chart, both for a Korean album and for any album in general by a Korean artist. This also translated to the highest first-week album sales for any Korean solo artist on the chart, even though it was only the first day of the album.

As of the third day after release, the album still holds position 1 on the chart for the top-selling albums.

In addition, on the Oricon Daily Digital Single Ranking, all 6 tracks from the album took up 6 out of the top 7 positions, showing how much the album had been highly anticipated in the country.

The exceptional performance by 'FACE' is being witnessed on every major music platform, other such platforms being Apple Music and Amazon.

'FACE' made its debut straight to #1 on the Worldwide Apple Music Album Chart, and all songs in the album dominated the top 7 best-selling songs under 4 different categories on Amazon USA, namely Digital Music New Release, Digital Music Best Seller, International New Release and International Best Seller.

On Melon, South Korea's largest music streaming and downloading platform, the title track 'Like Crazy' has peaked at #8 on the Melon Top 100 chart and has maintained a Top 10 position on the chart so far in all rankings at different times. In its first 24 hours, the song registered 115,114 unique listeners, which peaked at 118,513 as of 9 AM KST on March 27th.

All songs from the album charted on the Melon Top 100, making Jimin to be one of the top 3 artists with the most songs charting inside the Melon Top 100 chart, (5 songs each).

Jimin immediately shot to #1 on the Melon Daily All Artist chart and the Melon Daily Male Artist Chart and has maintained this position for 2 days straight.

At the end of the first 24hrs of the album's release, the album had garnered 2,961,300 streams on Melon, which was the biggest debut by a soloist on the platform in 2023. Consequently, Jimin will be receiving a Melon Hall of Fame "Million Album" Plaque.

On other platforms like Japan's LINE Music, which is Japan's biggest music streaming platform, Jimin rose to 17th place with 'Like Crazy,' whereas in China, 'FACE' is reported to have sold over 200k copies.

Jimin also earned his 3rd #1 on the K-pop chart in Genius Korea, as well as his first solo #1 on the Korean R&B and Ballad chart.

In other news, 'Like Crazy' has remained at the top of the Worldwide iTunes song chart for a 3rd consecutive day, while 'FACE' album remains #1 on the Worldwide iTunes Album chart and European iTunes Album chart for a third consecutive day as well.

It is impressive to see what Jimin has achieved with his very first solo album, and the future can only be brighter from here on for him as a solo artist.
