With the comeback of GOT the Beat, K-pop fans have been discussing the latest music released by the SM Entertainment supergroup.
There have been many fans looking forward to the girl group's comeback with their first mini-album. However, some have expressed their disappointment because they feel SM Entertainment's music has been reactive and slow in reading the trends.
One netizen pointed this aspect out in a popular online community and wrote, "I really liked songs like Taemin's 'Move' but there aren't any songs that really hit big from the songs released from SM for the past few years. What changed?"
Other netizens joined the community to share their thoughts on the matter and commented, "They're not reading the trends and are tacky," "I think the lyrics to aespa and GOT the Beat is the most serious...like 'A vicious shakedown, Mona Lisa smile...' what is this?" "They used to be innovative but not anymore," "I think it's because they didn't change, the trends that make a song popular have changed but they keep creating mass production type songs," "Min Hee Jin went to Hybe," "I think GOT the Beat song is good but the lyrics suck," and "I wish they don't use those weird narration type rap style."
Honestly the Big 3 in general seem to be treading water lately. JYP groups can't even sniff the charts, YGE groups barely make music, and SM is lost down LSM's Kwangya-NeoFuture rabbit hole.
