'With You' named among the Best K-pop songs of 2022 by different outlets + 'Filter' remains the longest charting K-pop B-side in Billboard's Digital Song Sales chart
While Jimin has been overwhelmingly successful in his career with his group BTS, his individual career has been no exception to an impressive performance among the public and, therefore, on music charts. His solo songs have registered record-breaking milestones time and time again all through the year 2022. Particularly, his latest song 'With You,' which was also his first ever solo project outside of BTS and therefore highly anticipated, recorded new sales and streaming records on various domestic and international music charts, including Melon, QQ, Oricon, iTunes, Apple Music, and Spotify to mention a few, as previously reported. In addition, 'Filter' his last solo work under BTS discography and released in 2020, also recorded numerous unprecedented results on various music platforms since its release, and these records have remained unsurpassed almost 3 years later, demonstrating the high success levels achieved by Jimin with this song.
For this reason, these two songs by Jimin have made it onto different lists by different reputable music entities as some of the best songs that made a significant impact in the year 2022.
Billboard News is one such music entity, selecting "With You" among the Best K-Pop songs of 2022. The song deserves loud applause for this selection and for making it onto the list of only 25 selected songs, considering all the many K-pop song releases in 2022 which had full promotions while "With You" had none, yet it received such a warm embrace from the audience. Moreover, what makes it even more impressive is the fact that the song happened to be the only Korean drama OST on the list! This speaks to Jimin's power as a soloist.
Genius Korea is another music entity that ranked "With You" among the Top OSTs of 2022 for the end-year ranking. The song took 3rd position on this list, maintaining its position from the half-year ranking. The song was the highest ranking among all BTS members' songs, again a bold testament to Jimin's impact outside of the group.
Coming to sales data, "Filter" continues to be the longest charting B-side by a K-pop act in the Billboard Digital Song Sales history, almost 3 years after its release. Its impressive chart performance and sales data are a clear indication that the public just could not get enough of the song either, demonstrating Jimin's charms as an individual act.
Results like this are what make fans unbearably anxious for his solo album debut because they know he always puts out iconic music that will elicit all kinds of warm and exhilarating emotions in them, instantly becoming a hit!
Congratulations, Jimin for the exemplary performance!
