BTS's Jimin is a dance genius, displaying an unparalleled ability to use his body to expressively tell stories and evoke emotion through his captivating gestures and movements.
On the 19th of December, Korean media KIHOILBO, through its guest reporter, published an article in the Culture section. The title of the article was about life blending into a dancer's gestures.
In this piece, the writer explored the expression of dance and its importance in life. This began with a look at dance as a primal form of expression, which has unfortunately been lost because of the prominence of language use. Dance expresses emotions that are difficult to speak out and, when paired with music, creates something utterly beautiful.
This was said to be especially imprinted in the reporter's mind because of Jimin during his iconic performance of “I Need U” at the 2019 MMA end-year stage. It was at that moment that he realized that he was going to be a great fan of BTS Jimin. Dressed in white, dancing barefoot, and waving around a fluttering white piece of cloth, Jimin accurately expressed the beauty of the unspoken dance beyond the pleasure of picking and choosing words and writing them well. It was like Jimin had something he could never emulate.
It was also because of Jimin that he became interested in dance. Upon watching him dance to the BTS' song "Black swan," he totally transformed into a "Black Swan." Because of this, the writer admitted that he couldn't fathom how Jimin uses his body so freely and expresses his emotions by controlling the intensity of his strength, so he really wanted to study dance more.
The writer took this on by attending a performance by the Incheon Dance Company's small performance, 'Dancer's Playlist.' He was deeply immersed throughout all of its parts, gaining understanding each time and hoping that the dance company would produce more work and be more appreciated by residents of Incheon.
Jimin was enrolled in the Busan Arts High School with a high score, where he learned modern dance. He is well experienced in contemporary, popping & locking, freestyling, and martial arts, among other forms. As a main dancer and lead vocal of BTS, he has been praised as the center of BTS choreography with breathtakingly captivating, powerful, and charming dance moves as a pillar that firmly supports their songs by Pop culture critic Cho Eun Jae. This is true because all of his end-year stages have always gone viral and are memorable. Moreover, he is in charge of BTS' toughest choreographies, like the kick in “No More Dream,” the powerful flip in “We Are Bulletproof Pt2,” and the acrobatic somersault in “N.O” to name a few. He is an all-rounded dancer with a wide spectrum unrestricted to the genre thanks to his flexibility, power, strength, groove, and beauty in dancing, armed with an arresting charisma that captivates anyone when he performs.
Jimin is named Dance God and Best Dancer cause he's not only has power & delicate but always succeed to expresses the songs. Proud of you Jimin!
