Lee Young Ji, known for her social media posts, has garnered attention once again.
On November 13, musician Lee Young Ji posted a selfie with the caption, "Would you like me to release an album?" In the photo, Lee Young Ji seems to be benevolently smiling while staring right at the camera.
This is a direct response to music critic Kang Il Kwon who recently pointed out that the rapper has not been diligent in her music career. Music critic Kang Il Kown wrote on his Facebook, "Lee Young Ji garnered attention through 'High School Rapper 3' back in 2019. It already has been three years but the only thing Lee Young Ji has been doing is releasing a few singles, and participating in variety shows, and music competitions. She hasn't released a single studio album and doesn't even have an EP."
He continued to state, "It leaves a bitter aftertaste how she chose to fill her music void and satisfy her desire for recognition as an artist by appearing on 'Show Me The Money 11' and not by releasing an excellent album."
Lee Young Ji's latest selfie is seen as her response to the music critic's post since she wrote in the photo "Would you want me to release an album?" and is aware of the criticism that she has received recently.
Meanwhile, Lee Young Ji garnered much attention after she decided to appear on 'Show Me The Money' season 11 despite already proving her rapping skills on 'High School Rapper 3'. She continues to show her impressive rapping skills on the show and easily made it through the second round of auditions.
She’s spoken about her journey to finding her sound and what she wants to make. She’s doing shows to get her name out and constantly improve. Just because you are signed to a company doesn’t mean they will like your ideas or even support a full length album. So many companies will keep artists on and not give them a single project. I think she really is just looking at what is going to inspire her and proving her popularity will give her more freedom when she does put something out. Either way she’s a gem and I hope she keeps doing whatever makes her happy.
