On media platforms, netizens are scratching their heads as they look at photos of NewJeans at this year's 'KCON Japan.' Their hair, makeup, and coordinated outfits (abbreviated in Korean as HMC) verged upon a colorful mishmash, leading netizens to wonder "what this concept even is."
In the photos, Haerin has a purple-bleached hair with a graphic tee and playful accessories. Danielle is wearing a neon-patterned beanie with a four-color shirt. Yeah it's ugly af but go on pinterest and you'll see a bunch of similar outfits if you look up "2022 maximalist fashion" or on TikTok. Considering NewJeans is supposed to embody the young generation which is more experimental with fashion their outfits make sense (young generations through every time/decade have always experimented with fashion and different aesthetics). Therefore I don't think it's particularly weird but whether it looks good or not can certainly be discussed. I like Hanni's outfit, the gray hat is cute and I've seen "alt" girls in my city wear similar hats/outfits.
